Process
I was brought on board to this project as part of a senior project. The newspaper was being hosted by School Newspapers Online (SNO), and wanted a look of their own, with complete control of their website.
First I set the brand up with WP-Engine, a great WordPress host that focuses primarily on the content management system.
The desired template was WP-Zoom’s Prime News template. The build required custom work to lay out the slider and widgets on the homepage to the liking of the staff. Included with this theme were social media widgets to sync with the brand’s social media accounts.
In 2020, the brand won an award for Online General Excellence on behalf of the California News Publishers Association.
